LOS ANGELES, CA, May 07, 2010 /Graphic Design PR News/ -- On Thursday, April 29, Canoga Park High School beat out numerous high school and college students to win cash scholarships at the PIASC/RAISE FoundationâEUR s Academic Challenge at the Top Management Network dinner at Tamayo Restaurant. The Academic Challenge consisted of a Jeopardy-like game, which took place in three rounds of elimination-style competition, evaluating students on their technical, writing, and graphic art abilities. The event was held for PIASC members; it included a buffet dinner and an hour of networking leading up to the Academic Challenge.

Canoga Park took the win against five other high schools that made it to the final rounds. These schools include: El Camino Real, Canoga Park, Hart, Venice, and Marshall High School. The audience were on the edge of their seats as Canoga ParkâEUR s Lesly Franco beat El Camino RealâEUR s Arvin Shahnazi by a mere 200 points. Franco received a $1,000 cash scholarship from the Katie Denne Scholarship Fund and a Macintosh computer for her school. The other contestants also received cash scholarships.

The foundation is funded through the members of the Printing Industries Association, Inc. of Southern California to offer school programs to benefit graphic arts students of all ages.
