Corbis Images and VII Announce Representation Agreement

Corbis Images further strengthens its exceptional editorial offering with new agreement to distribute VII's acclaimed current events and documentary photography

NEW YORK, NY, December 08, 2010 /Graphic Design PR News/ -- Corbis Images (www.corbisimages.com), a leading visual media provider for the creative community, and VII (www.viiphoto.com), today announced a new representation agreement whereby Corbis Images will be the exclusive distribution partner for VII's current events and documentary photographers in most markets worldwide.

Established in 2001, VII represents the work of some of the most accomplished photojournalists in the world. The photo agency currently represents more than 30 photographers who specialize in documenting and exploring the various manifestations of violent and non-violent global conflict, including environmental, social and political dissent.

The VII collection represents about 50,000 images from the 1990s to present day. VII photographers are regularly selected by some of the biggest and most respected global media publishers and advertisers for photography assignments, and their latest work will continually be added to the VII collection and syndicated on Corbis Images.

"Unified behind the goal of creating some of the world's finest photojournalism, VII's photographers have been responsible for capturing and relaying to the world many of the images that define the turbulent opening years of the 21st century," said Gary Knight, Contributor and Founder, VII. "Our photographers are inspired by an array of often very different motivations, and it is from this breadth of reference that VII draws its originality and strength."

VII photographers have been recognized around the world with dozens of awards in photojournalism. Some of their most prominent assignments have included covering the U.S. invasion of Panama, the U.S. invasion of Iraq, the Persian Gulf War, the drug war in Colombia and the wars in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Somalia and the former Yugoslavia. They have also documented humanitarian crises such as the tragedy in Darfur and shadowed world leaders such as UK Prime Minister David Cameron and U.S. President Barack Obama.

"For the past decade, VII photographers have immersed themselves in the story and captured stunning images that have made an impact around the world," said Anil Ramchand, Director of News, Sports and Entertainment at Corbis. "Our new agreement with VII underscores our commitment to providing Corbis clients with exceptional photography to tell inspired stories."
